We run a series of ‘pop-up’ events to encourage networking and information sharing between colleagues in the Scottish museums sector. These take a variety of formats such as exhibition openings, specialist subject talks, training and evening events.
August Pop-Up: All About Access
Scottish National Portrait Gallery
1 Queen Street
8 August 2pm-4pm
Join us for this All About Access event exploring ways in which museums and galleries are tackling access issues through creative programming, projects and partnership working. Speakers from national and local museums will share their experience of widening access and there will be opportunity for open discussion and a chance to bring your own experience, questions or ideas.
August Pop-Up: Paisley Pop Up!
The Secret Collection
9 High Street
29 August 2pm-4pm
Come and hear from the team who helped create Paisley, the Secret Collection, the UK’s only High Street accessible, museum store.
Housed in the basement of a former department store, at the heart of Paisley town centre, the Secret Collection opened in 2018 and is the hub of activity for Renfrewshire Leisure Heritage services during the closure of Paisley Museum for major redevelopment.
