We run a series of ‘pop-up’ events to encourage networking and information sharing between colleagues in the Scottish museums sector. These take a variety of formats such as exhibition openings, specialist subject talks, training and evening events.
October Pop-Up: Body Beautiful: Diversity on the Catwalk, Exhibition tour
National Museum of Scotland
3 October 2pm-4pm
The Body Beautiful: Diversity on the Catwalk exhibition highlights examples from fashion creatives who are embracing inclusivity and body positivity, exploring themes such as size, gender, age, race and disability.
Celebrate 2019's Scottish Museums Day by hearing from Georgina Ripley, Senior Curator of Modern & Contemporary Fashion & Textiles and learn more about how the industry is calling into question existing practice, and why becoming more inclusive behind the scenes will ensure a genuine reappraisal of contemporary ideals of beauty.
This event will take place in the National Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh.
